Coaching and mentoring

Having someone to turn to and help you to overcome difficulties is invaluable. At Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (CCS), we have a team of qualified coaches who can help and support our staff.
There are many situations where an individual might find coaching beneficial. Generally, they are seeking change or an improvement in the way they are feeling or experiencing a situation. This could be a work relationship, a difficult situation or an imbalance they feel powerless to resolve. The goal may be more tangible such as career progression or maybe the launch of a new idea, project or quality improvement initiative.
A person undertaking coaching will be encouraged to set their own agenda for the coaching conversation. They should be willing to explore their own perceptions and assumptions, be keen to try new things and embrace change. Most importantly, coaching allows an individual time to reflect upon their own actions and review their own decisions. It encourages them to take responsibility for any actions identified and strive to achieve them.
Having a confidential conversation with someone who will listen to you with full focus and give you the space you need to explore, question, think and even be silent is invaluable. It helps to bring clarity to your thoughts, bring perspective to your situation and motivate you to initiate the change you are seeking. Even when that change means you do nothing but simply see something in a different light – this may be all you need.
All our coaches are either trained or in training and adhere to the coaching ethics and principles required of them by the recognised coaching authorities and uphold the Trust values and behaviours.
