• Dan Berry, Head of Behavioural Science at NHS England

  Unlocking behavioural science for meaningful improvement.

  We heard from a leading national expert on applying behavioural science to design and drive effective change. We discovered practical ways to boost motivation, inspire others, and see how small shifts can lead to a big impact.

  Dan Berry leads the NHS England Behavioural Science Unit, focusing on staff and patient behaviour change. He previously established the first behavioural insights team at the Department of Health and Social Care and served as a global communications agency director for five years.

  Dan shares how to simplify and apply behavioural science to enhance improvement approaches effectively.

• Dr. Sarah Robinson, Director of Delivery - Health Innovation East

  Innovation & Radical Change: A Call to Action 

  Dr. Sarah Robinson represents the Health Innovation Network, the NHS innovation partner for health and care. As Director of Delivery, she leads a team delivering 50+ projects for a population of 6 million and directs a national program to improve patient wound care. Passionate about evidence-based practice, she ensures appropriate evaluations are in place to understand the impact of innovation and pathway transformation.

  Sarah also serves as Implementation Lead for the National Institute for Health Research Applied Research Collaborations (NIHR ARC) East of England, supporting applied research to enhance patient and staff well-being. A clinical psychologist by training, she has held strategic NHS roles, including leading the national dementia strategy and developing an award-winning safeguarding app for health professionals. Her work spans complex programs benefiting both the workforce and patients.
